On the other hand 300 which is a ferocious remake of the battle of Thermopylae starts with an old man cradling a baby looking over the edge of a cliff where skulls and baby remains lie. The next scene shows two boys fight downing one of which is Leonidas soon to be king of Sparta. Leonidas is on top of the other boy obviously winning the fight as the other boy is bleeding from the nose. This is one of the tests that the infantile Spartans must do to prove themselves in their harsh and drear environment.
