In most states in the United States of America today, only hoi polloi who fall in love with someone of the opposite sex activity ar permitted to legally unify their separate lives in to a legal joint partnership that is recognized by local, state, and the federal official governments. In a culture as diversified and by and large accepting as ours, it is amazing that we remain so barbarian and puritanical in our perception of what examples of marriage are acceptable. These days, environmental ethicshow our behavior affects the environmenthas become an increasingly larger part of mainstream thought (Mosser, 2010). The legalization of homosexual marriage in the United States would be beneficial for the homosexual community, the heterosexual community, as well as for the government.
The legalization of homosexual marriage in the United States would be of benefit to the gay community nationwide. non only would this type of legislation encompass an equalization of sorts to the rights of homosexuals, but it could also bring about a modernization in the way that benefits currently restricted to those in heterosexual marriages are managed.
Currently, same-sex partners are often denied benefits including being eligible to participate in a partners health insurance and even having the legal right to make decisions regarding a partners emergency medical and even life or finish decisions. The premise of marriage only being acceptable when it is the type of marriage that certain religious and governmental bodies believe that it should be is alienating to an entire segment of the population.
